Author’s Note: These are poems I improvised while half-asleep in the morning in an attempt to give voice to the mind before its waking configuration is fully established. They were edited while I was fully awake; however, I tried to preserve as much as possible of the dreamlike logic and syntax.

Editor’s note: These poems are part of a series called "Apophenic Epiphanies", which itself is the fourth volume of a longer project called"Hypnopompic Diaries".

Steve Carll lives with his family in Arcata, California. His third full-length poetry collection, Hypnopompic Diaries (Books One and Two) is currently out from Alien Buddha Press.
